July 2014, International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies 20th International Conference, University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island, USA, Presented a paper titled, “ One the Road to Power Point Design” Presents on the second phase of my PhD studies pertaining to font style influence on retention based on a cross-cultural study from students in Japan and the USA.

March 2014 New York State TESOL Winter Conference, New York, New York, USA, Co- presented a paper titled, “Guiding the Autonomous Mind in a Social Learning Space” This presentation explained the positive influence on student motivation and autonomous learning of students using visits to the Okayama University Language Café (L-Café) as required homework for an intermediate level speaking course.

May 2013, Center For English Language Communication Symposium, National University of Singapore. “Visual Language Retention: A Cross Cultural Comparison”. Presented research results which included a cross cultural analysis from my ongoing PhD research in Japan and America. This study compared retention rates for varying visual cues of a basic presentation and compared these results to prove a perception difference across cultures.
